About
Hello there! My name is Hadi Kurniawan, but everyone knows me as "Pak Guru Maur."
"Maur" comes from the village where I used to teach before I transferred. I loved the name so much that I kept it! People say it's inspired by the Indonesian word for "rose" – mawar. Pretty cool, right?
I created this blog for anyone who wants to learn Bahasa Indonesia in a fun and practical way. Instead of relying only on textbook-style language, I use real examples from movies, YouTube videos, comics, and everyday life. Seeing how words and phrases are actually used in context can help you understand not just the meaning, but also the feeling behind the language.
On this blog, I focus on how Indonesians speak in real conversations—not just the formal Indonesian you’ll find in grammar books, but the kind we actually use with friends, family, and coworkers.
I also have a dream: I want to write and share stories—especially fairy tales—in Indonesian. I believe stories are one of the most powerful ways to learn a language and connect with its culture.
